Cnoc na dTobar Pilgrim Walks

Join us on one of Ireland’s most breathtaking pilgrimage routes. Each year, The Old Barracks is proud to host two guided climbs of Cnoc na dTobar, a sacred mountain with panoramic views over the Skellig Coast.

A Pilgrimage Through Time

Cnoc na dTobar (meaning Hill of the Wells) is one of Ireland’s ancient Pilgrim Paths. Rising over 600 metres above sea level, it offers spectacular views and a chance to walk in the footsteps of those who have climbed this holy site for centuries.

Along the route, pilgrims pass a series of stone crosses marking the Stations of the Cross, culminating at the summit’s large cross and sweeping views of Valentia Island, Dingle Bay, and the Atlantic beyond.

Annual Guided Walks

We host two organised climbs every year:

Both walks begin at The Old Barracks, where you can check in, collect your Pilgrim Path Passport, and learn about the site’s history before the climb begins.
