From Rebellion
to Escape Rooms

Uncover the secrets of a 19th-century fortress in the heart of Cahersiveen. Explore powerful stories, panoramic views, and hands-on experiences — from interactive exhibitions to our unique escape room.

A Fortress with
a Story To Tell

Built in the 1870s to guard a global telegraph lifeline, The Old Barracks has stood through rebellion, revolution, and restoration. Today, its walls hold the stories of the Royal Irish Constabulary, the Fenian Rising, and the local people who shaped Irish history.

Restored through local effort in the 1990s, the Barracks now blends historic architecture with modern storytelling. Interactive exhibits, rare artefacts, and personal accounts reveal how this landmark shaped — and was shaped by — the events around it.

Really lovely day out, nice cafe at the park too. A series of shop fronts and historic buildings to look around with an audio guide. The audio guide is excellent, it gives good info without dragging on and being long winded. There is a beautiful little garden and some very cute chickens. Highly recommend 😀

We really enjoyed our recent Southern Ireland trip with Valhalla! Nick and Brandon were excellent guides and provided a very comfortable, relatable experience. We had a great time, the accommodations were wonderful and we would highly recommend them to our friends! We hope to use them again in the future.

We had so much fun playing Dingle. It was our first time on a links course. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. They provided a very knowledgeable caddie named Barry (sp?). We had a great round. Don’t miss this place. I loved the rental clubs so much I went home and bought the same ones.
